Chris Bird-Jones
Wrexham, North Wales

Born in 1956 in Llangollen, Wales, Chris Bird-Jones has a MFA, 1987, from the Royal College of Art, London and a Higher National Diploma, 1977, from Swansea College of Art, South Wales.  Bird-Jones received the Wales Arts International Award, 2002; the Welsh Office Award, 1997; and the British Council Award, 1995.

Primary is about fundamental play.  The layered blocks create a variety of visually interactive experiences.  The unpolished edges of the glass squares maintain an element of tension and act as an indicator of construction.
